Sorting a few things out this morning, and a good job too, because I found this fabulous calendar that I had put away last Autumn ready for the start of the year. It was produced in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution – a vital charity which saves hundreds of lives all round the UK coast every year.
Last year, the RNLI Branch local to my Mum, Joan Hudson, invited local artists to contribute art work for their 2016 calendar. Mum’s submission was chosen not only for the month of May, but also for the front cover too!! You can see both here, along with the picture for January, which I think is just right for this time of year. I also like the image for September – I am looking forward to having that one on the wall.
If you would like to see more of Mum’s work, check out her website at www.joanhudsonpaintings.co.uk I think everything she does is fabulous, and of course I am not a bit biased! 🙂
Brilliant – every day is met with a window into beauty…

So pleased you found the calendar. Wonderful that your mother’s work was chosen for it. I love a calendar with personal connections as well as a great cause. It was good to visit her site again.

I don’t think there was anywhere to leave a comment, or was there?

Do you know, that’s something I have never noticed! I will mention it when I next speak to her – thanks for pointing it out, I’m sure she will appreciate it 🙂

Why ever would you be biased? 🙂 🙂 I had an aunty in Devon, who died last year and was a keen supporter of the RNLI. She always sent their Christmas cards and this reminded me of her. I buy the calendar from our hospice each year, and then keep the best photos (and occasionally recipes). It’s perforated so they are like postcards.
Nice to meet you. I came here via Ann at Gallivanta 🙂

Hi Jo, thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving this lovely comment. I am with you on keeping photos etc from cards/calendars. It drives my husband mad, but I like to use them for bookmarks and things as a continual reminder of the person who sent them. xxx
