Today is a sad day for us Brits. We said goodbye to one of our ‘national treasures’. Scottish comedien Ronnie Corbett died earlier this morning. As many people have said, he was one of the true greats of British comedy, along with his working companion, Ronnie Barker, who died in 2005.
Here are two clips showing them both in action. They are total classics and you will probably have seen them many times before. But they are always hilarious and worth re-watching.
There are loads of other Two Ronnies sketches on YouTube – check them out any time you want a good laugh.
And let’s say a big thank you to both of them for all the wonderful years of comedy they gave us.
The laughter will continue…RIP. The two Ronnies were a gift to this world.

The Grim Reaper has been working overtime this year 😦 I loved the Two Ronnies myself but even more so for how they made my parents laugh. There is something so special about the people who bring happiness to those you love.

So glad you shared those clips! My dad used to rave about them but I actually hadn’t seen them performing. Brilliant stuff! Sad news but I sure appreciate your post.

Yet another big name gone, it is a crazy year, I am sure the sales of four pack candles have gone through the roof though.

A fitting tribute! I am sure you know the story about there being four candles carried to accompany Ronnie Barker’s coffin into the church for his funeral, instead of the usual two. Wonderful.

Such sad news! Their shows were on all the time I was growing up – such clever writing and their comic timing was perfect. I remember the spoof serial written by Spike Milligan – ‘The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town’ – with Ronnie Corbett playing the part of Inspector Corner of the Yard.
