In my last post, I waxed lyrical about the gorgeous art of Scottish artist Victoria Crowe. I just found this link to a preview version of her recent exhibition at The Scottish Gallery – it’s definitely worth a flick as it gives a lovely sense of her brilliant landscape work.
Victoria Crowe – A Certain Light (Click on the ‘view preview of catalogue’ button and enjoy!)
Is she quoting Emily Dickinson: “There’s a certain slant of light”?

Ooh not sure, but it’s a brilliant poem, which reading it again seems highly relevant to portraiture in particular –
‘We can find no scar,
But internal difference –
Where the Meanings, are –’
What a fascinating thought and great spot, thank you! 🙂

Is the artwork in your post Crowe’s? I feel like I’ve seen it before.

Lol – that’s another of my 100 day pics (I can never seem to get the caption to show on a featured image). I am honoured that you thought it could be Crowe’s! 😀🙏🏻

You must’ve used that one in a post about your 100 days project–that’s why it looked familiar. I really love that one!

Thank you – yes I think it was in there somewhere – I like it too! It is handy to have all this artwork floating around for post illustration purposes 🙂

Fabulous, indeed. I love Twilight Landscape. Pity about the 25,000 Pounds I don’t have to buy it! 😀

Lovely, I have a weakness for trees, Bob Ross and Caspar David Friedrich are great for them but this artist merits a closer look.

There’s definitely something about trees in art when done well.
